By Lorene Bronner
“Growing In Faith, A True Bronner Story”is an autobiography published in 2018. It is a true story of my life growing up in the South of Alabama in a small town named Gosport, with a section called “Nigger Town,” because no whites lived there. This place was unique in every way, and my grandfather was like a mayor. He was a leader of the community, deacon of the church and head carpenter in building his house the schoolhouse his store, houses for some white people in the area.
This book will take you on a journey of my personal life, woven with emotional extremes in a difficult period of American history. Migrating from the Deep South to the North, I met the love of my life. You will see how 23 years of marriage started out in the highest state of euphoria and turned into a chaotic disaster of mental and physical abuse, secrets and lies, and an unsolved cold case murder. People who know the Bronner Brothers of Atlanta, GA will be intrigued to learn my family connection to the giant BB Company and Upscale Magazine that I worked for in the Northeast Region. While this book talks about the Bronner Family, it serves as a prism to which many people can gaze through and see themselves and their own families.
This book will help you to discover the personal power to grow stronger in faith everyday as you are confronted with life’s multitude of challenges. In this work there are many valuable lessons to be gleaned about survival, overcoming tragedy, suffering and horrific grief. You will also travel with me to many places in and outside of the United States and meet many people that you will recognize. You will see yourself in my story. A must read!
